Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers. As a manager, you'll be responsible for driving the team to meet deadlines, building features, shipping products on time, and communicating effectively with founders. You will be working interchangeably with our frontend and backend engineers, ensuring the coherence and efficiency of our overall systems.

Responsibilities
  1. Technical Leadership:
  • Lead a team of engineers, providing leadership and guidance.
  • Actively participate in coding and other technical activities whenever necessary.
  • Oversee the technical aspects of the project, ensuring the use of best practices and adhering to quality standards.
  1. Project Management:
  • Forecast project timelines accurately and allocate resources effectively.
  • Plan, execute, and close sprints successfully, ensuring the team meets its deadlines.
  • Communicate regularly with the founder on progress, challenges, and timelines
  1. Strategic Planning:
  • Collaboratively work with the founders to define project scopes, objectives, and deliverables.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve the technical requirements of the startup.
  1. Team Development:
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback to engineers for continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate the professional development and growth of team members.
  1. Product Development:
  • Actively involved in the product development cycle, from ideation to launch.
  • Ensure that the products developed align with the startup's vision and goals.
  1. Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that may impact the project's success.

Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or in a similar leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent project management skills with a focus on agile and scrum methodologies.
  • Strong coding skills in Typescript.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Work interchangeably with frontend and backend teams based on feature requirements
  • Develop and maintain frontend components using React Native and Typescript
  • Collaborate with the Backend team to develop and maintain our backend systems
  • Implement APIs and ensure the seamless integration between frontend and backend functionality
  • Create scalable, maintainable, and secure codebase
  • Work with AWS services to deploy and manage the full-stack infrastructure
